1- Once project approved, how Powstar team handle the projects together?

After the orders are finalized, a dedicated team of professional engineers, project manager, QA manager, QC manager and production controller staff will established. Also, sales department will always keep an eye on it.
- Project Manager will supervise the whole tooling process.
- Engineering Manager will arrange the orders on the production sheet. Materials purchasing starts immediately.
- Production controller goes to workshops and checks detail every day to see if things are going on well.
- The sales department will provide Tooling manufacturing schedule, progress chart on every Wednesday.
- QC department will have a strict inspection from the mold design to the mold packaging.

2- Do POWSTAR make the mold flow analysis?

Yes, before mold building for injection molds we make the mold-flow analysis to verify of gate locations, wall thickness, part warpage, shrinkage and such potential issues. This part of cost doesn't include on the quotation. We make the mold flow analysis according to our customer's requirements.

3- What's POWSTAR's lead time?

Injection Mold
-DFM: 2 days
-2D Mold design: 2 days
-3D Mold design: 3 days
-T1 Sample: 4-6 weeks
(Also, the progress chart will be sent to you on a weekly basis.)

Stamping Tool
-Lay strip: 2-4 days
-2D Tool design: 2-4 days
-3D Tool design: 2-4 days
-FOT part: 6-10 weeks

To help you monitor the whole manufacturing process progress, a tight and well-planned schedule are submitted with a weekly report and digital pictures. The processes at each stage are observed and assessed in a weekly for delivery on time.

4- Before the finalized quotation, which kind of information and documents are required by POWSTAR?

Injection Mold
-2D/3D part drawing (step, stp, igs, x_t formats are more preferred)
-Mold steel, mold shot life, number of cavities, mold standard parts, mold surface requirements

Stamping tool
-2D/3D part drawing (step, stp, igs, x_t formats are more preferred)
-Tool Material, tool shot life
-Press machine info
-Tooling technical specifications (tooling standards, tooling surface requirements)

5- What is the reason and percentage of the delay on lead time?

We deliver the tools and items on time at the rate of 95%. But indeed there are some delays can be happen cause by the 2 reasons;
-When customers ask for the design change, the lead time will be delayed but this will be accepted by our customers.
-When there are long holidays during the manufacturing period such as Christmas or Spring Festival, lead times will be longer for each order. We notify to our customers before this kind of holidays.
Except for the above two conditions, we commit to 100% on time delivery or even the advanced delivery.

6- How POWSTAR control the quality?

We are committed to 100% customers satisfaction. Quality is our priority for a long-term business relationship. We follow up the quality in a strict inspection from the beginning to end.

Injection Mold
-Material inspection: QC will make sure only the best quality of material is used. Steel certification will be provided.
-Mold design inspection: All mold designs and 2D/3D tool drawings must be confirmed by the clients with DFM reports before the mold building. Mold flow analysis if needed also can provide.
-During mold building process: Mold Design control, steel hardness, electrodes, core and cavities, steel dimension, pre‐assembly, final inspection, mold trial report and samples, pre-shipment, package control.
-Assembly: Our staff has abundant experience about the assembling delicate or intricate components to ensure all parts are put together with care and skill.
-Before shipment: Molds are inspected to ensure that the functions and qualities of the molds meet the customer's requests.
-Advanced measuring equipment: We use CMM(USA) and Image vision dynascope optical measuring machines etc.

Stamping Tool
-Material inspection: QC will make sure only the best quality of material is used. Steel certification will be provided.
-Tool design inspection: All tool designs and 2D/3D tool drawings must be approved by the clients with the layout in the beginning. CAE analysis if needed also can provide.
-During tooling process: Our technicians have high training and experience in using state-of-the-art equipment to maintain high precision and quality levels.
-Assembly: Our staff has abundant experience about the assembling delicate or intricate components to ensure all parts are put together with care and skill.
-Before shipment: All tools components are tested and checked to ensure they pass our rigorous quality standards.
-Advanced measuring equipment: We use CMM(USA), digital caliper (JAPAN), outside diameter caliper, various microscopes etc. advanced equipment to maintain the levels of accuracy.

7- Which kind of Software is used in design?

Good designs are key to success of the molds. POWSTAR has 30 design engineers using the latest versions of software systems and fully integrated CAD/CAM/CAE technology.

8- Do you have a regular training for your employees?

The human resources department monthly and regularly trains other relevant department managers to ensure that the machines are running by well-trained technicians and that tight tolerance tool parts are producing.
Also, our facilities are provided with annual and regular technical support to stay updated with latest technological advances by a special team from Germany.

9- If you need extra mold trials, how about the costs?

90% of tools are testing before the shipping up to 3 times. Usually, we testing 2 times for free and each time making 10 shots samples for free. We could also make small batches of production according to customers' requests. After tool completed, if the customer needs extra sampling due to the sudden design changes, the cost bears by the customer.
